- In the Kyrgyz Republic, additional measures for veterinary and sanitary control have been initiated. The Department for the Control of Epizootics of the Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture reported this.

In the ministry, it was clarified that the new measures are aimed at "preventing the import and spread of infectious diseases among animals."

The main task is to prevent the emergence of pathogens of infectious animal diseases on the territory of the country, as well as products and goods of animal origin that do not meet veterinary and biological safety standards. All measures are being taken in accordance with the Code of Animal Health of the World Organisation for Animal Health and the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of veterinary medicine.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Agriculture does not rule out the possibility of introducing temporary restrictions on the import of animals and products of animal origin from countries where outbreaks of infectious diseases have been recorded.
