The duration of the restriction is six months and covers such types of animals as cattle, sheep, goats, and horses.
The introduction of this ban is aimed at ensuring food security and stabilizing prices for food products in the domestic market.
However, there are exceptions to this ban:
- transit of livestock through the territory of Kyrgyzstan;
- export of sport horses for participation in competitions;
- donation of horses to foreign states and international organizations;
- export of live cattle through the operator "Kyrgyz Agrohholding" (excluding animals raised in the republic);
- export of horses using air transport.
All responsible state authorities have been instructed to implement this ban.
The initial ban on the export of agricultural animals was introduced in Kyrgyzstan on August 21, 2025. This decision was made in response to a sharp rise in meat prices and was aimed at stabilizing the food market.
