- The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has extended the existing ban on the export of agricultural animals for another six months. The resolution, dated March 9, was published on the official government website.

The ban covers livestock such as cattle, as well as horses, sheep, and goats, as reported in a press release from the President's Administration.

“This decision has been made to ensure the food security of the country and stabilize food prices,” the press service clarified.

However, the restrictions do not apply to:

– transit through the territory of Kyrgyzstan;

– sport horses participating in competitions;

– horses donated to foreign states, international organizations, or private individuals;

– live animals exported by the state operator — OJSC "Kyrgyz Agrohholding," except for animals raised in the country;

– horses exported by air transport.

Earlier, on August 20, 2025, the government made a similar decision to ban the export of agricultural animals for a period of six months.
