- In 2026, an agricultural census is scheduled, which will include new detailed survey forms. These forms will allow for the collection of information about the state of agriculture, infrastructure, and environmental protection facilities across the country. This was announced on the radio by Baktybek Orozbaev, the chief specialist of the Department of Statistical Censuses and Geoinformation Systems of the National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to Orozbaev, the first form is intended for rural districts. It includes information about populated areas, such as the name and location of the rural district, the OKPO code, as well as the composition of the populated areas and their codes according to the SOOT system.

“This form will include information about the areas of agricultural land, lands of the redistribution fund, and lands used by rural districts. Information about infrastructure will also be collected: the presence of paved roads, credit institutions, agricultural product markets, maintenance services, as well as clinics and hospitals,” the expert noted.

In addition, the questionnaires have been supplemented with questions related to ecology and infrastructure, such as the presence of landfills, chemical storage sites, tailings storage facilities, and ongoing environmental protection activities. The presence of municipal enterprises, as well as agricultural machinery and transport providing services to the population, will also be taken into account.

The second form is intended for legal entities engaged in agricultural activities, including state and collective farms, subsidiary farms of enterprises, educational institutions, and logistics centers. It will contain information about land and labor resources, the infrastructure of farms, as well as the availability of water supply, electricity supply, and autonomous energy sources such as solar panels and generators.

The census will also cover data on sown areas, orchards, berry fields, and greenhouses, the use of fertilizers, as well as the livestock and poultry population.

“For the census takers, we have prepared special visual materials on animal breeds. Images of horse, sheep, goat, and pig breeds will be presented in electronic format, allowing the census taker to determine the breed of the animal together with the owner. If the breed cannot be identified, the information will be recorded as 'mixed breed animal',” the specialist added.
