How the Agricultural Census - 2026 Will Be Conducted in Kyrgyzstan, According to the National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic
A agricultural census is scheduled in Kyrgyzstan, which will take place from March 20 to April 10, 2026. This decision was made by the country's cabinet of ministers at the end of last year with the aim of improving the quality and reliability of the data collected.
The Deputy Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zainidin Jumaliev, and the chief specialist of the Department of Statistical Censuses and Geoinformation Systems, Baktybek Orozbaev, shared information about the significance of the upcoming census on the air of Birinchi Radio.
According to them, the agricultural census is a large-scale statistical event that will allow for the collection of complete, up-to-date, and objective information about the state of agriculture in the country. The main goal of the event is to create a reliable statistical base for the development of effective government programs and policies in the agricultural sector. The data obtained will become an important tool for ensuring food security and sustainable development of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan.
Zainidin Jumaliev also reminded that the agricultural census is conducted once every ten years, with the last one taking place in 2003. This means that the upcoming census will provide current information about the state of the industry. The results will be published on the website of the National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic upon completion of the event.
Baktybek Orozbaev added that republican and district commissions have been established to prepare for the census. "The census will be conducted in electronic format.
