- The agricultural census planned for 2026 will be supplemented with new questions regarding the breed of animals, fish farms, product processing, and summer cottages, said Baktybek Orozbaev, the chief specialist of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, on the radio.

Orozbaev noted that the questionnaires will include a section dedicated to documentary confirmation of the breed of agricultural animals.

“The question includes the presence of a certificate confirming the breed. If there is no certificate, it will be indicated that the breed is not confirmed. Otherwise, a corresponding mark will be made,” he explained.

Questions about fish farms have also been introduced into the census. The specialist reported that data will be collected on the area of water bodies and their use.

“The information will pertain to the damming of water bodies and their area. It will also be necessary to indicate what types of fish these water bodies are used for, such as rainbow trout or white amur,” Orozbaev added.

In addition, the questionnaires will contain information about the presence of mini-workshops for processing agricultural products and storage capacities.

“We are collecting data on mini-workshops for processing and homemade storage facilities, including equipment for refrigerated storage,” he noted.

For personal subsidiary farms, a separate form with a broader set of questions is provided, as well as a special form for summer cottages.

According to the specialist, this is explained by the fact that many people live permanently in summer cottages around large cities and engage in agriculture.

“Many residents of large cities manage their farms on summer cottage plots, where they keep livestock and poultry. Therefore, we decided to create a separate form for summer cottage plots,” he said.

At the same time, he added that not all summer cottage owners live on their plots permanently, which necessitates a general form to be filled out by the chairman of the summer cottage cooperative. After that, enumerators will conduct surveys among those who live permanently on summer cottage plots.

“We will separately survey residents who live in summer cottages. This survey will include data on livestock and the availability of land plots,” Orozbaev concluded.
