Spring field work in Kyrgyzstan has begun two weeks earlier than usual. This was reported by Turatbek Idrisov, head of the department for implementing decisions in crop production and horticulture at the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, during a broadcast on "Birinchi Radio."

According to him, the winter period this year was quite warm, which contributed to the earlier arrival of spring. Farmers were previously given recommendations for preparing for the new season, including conducting water-saving measures, soil treatment, and purchasing seeds and fertilizers in advance.

However, as Idrisov noted, in the southern part of the country, the pace of the sowing campaign has somewhat slowed down due to unfavorable weather conditions — the region is experiencing rain.

In particular, in the Osh region, 500 hectares of wheat and barley have already been sown.

According to the department's information, the seed supply stands at 87 percent. Seed-growing farms and warehouses of large companies have a sufficient stock of seeds, and 28,000 tons of fertilizers have been imported, with deliveries ongoing.

For field work, 7 million liters of fuel and lubricants have been allocated at a preferential price of 74 soms per liter. Fuel can be obtained through the district agricultural development offices from the material reserves warehouses, as reported by the official.
