This year, spring fieldwork began significantly earlier than usual. This was reported by Turatbek Idrisov, head of the department for implementing decisions in crop production and horticulture at the Ministry of Agriculture, during a radio broadcast.

According to Idrisov, spring arrived two weeks earlier than last year, which is associated with an abnormally warm winter. In the fall, farmers received recommendations for preparing for the new season, which included advice on soil cultivation, optimizing water supply, and timely purchasing of seeds and fertilizers.

However, in the southern regions, the pace of work has slowed slightly over the past week due to unfavorable weather conditions, although prior to that, the sowing campaign was progressing actively, noted Idrisov.

In the Aravan district of the Osh region, more than 400 hectares of potatoes have already been planted, while in the Jalal-Abad region, over 200 hectares have been sown. In the Osh region, 500 hectares of wheat and barley were sown, with 300 hectares allocated to wheat and 200 hectares to barley. In the Chui region, grain crops have reached over 2,000 hectares, including 1,500 hectares of barley and 500 hectares of wheat.

At the moment, the main focus is on sowing wheat, barley, and potatoes. For other vegetable and fruit crops, seedlings are actively grown in greenhouses. The seed supply in the republic is over 87%, and there is a sufficient stock of seeds in seed-growing farms and warehouses of large companies.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 28,000 tons of fertilizers have been imported into the country, of which more than 22,000 tons are sold through over 40 trading points. The continuation of supplies depends on current demand. Seeds of wheat, barley, potatoes, corn, and alfalfa are distributed with a subsidy of 30%.

The readiness of agricultural machinery is over 85%. In the Naryn region, fieldwork has not yet begun due to weather conditions, so the current indicators are formed based on the southern regions and the Chui region. About 22,000 units of machinery are planned to be involved in the spring campaign.

Idrisov also noted that 7 million liters of fuel and lubricants have been allocated for the work at a preferential price of 74 soms per liter. Fuel can be obtained through the district agricultural development offices from material reserve warehouses. According to oil traders, there is no shortage of diesel fuel in the country.

Overall, as Idrisov emphasized, the preparation and implementation of spring fieldwork are proceeding according to the planned schedule.
