According to the information from the press service of the Ministry of Finance, OJSC "State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic" is allocating funds for the construction of six hydropower plants and one solar power plant.

The projects have a total cost of 21.6 billion soms. Their total installed capacity will be 148.3 megawatts, and the expected annual electricity generation will be 629.7 million kilowatt-hours.

"These initiatives will help cover about 16% of the existing electricity deficit in the country and strengthen the resilience of the national energy system," the ministry added.

The Ministry of Finance also noted that the implementation of these projects will create jobs, increase tax revenues, and contribute to the improvement of infrastructure, including roads and power transmission lines.

"The development of renewable energy will also reduce the carbon footprint and expand irrigation opportunities in the agricultural sector," the agency emphasized.
