The modernization of hydro unit No. 2 at the Uch-Kurgan HPP is actively continuing, and the dismantling work has reached a new level.
According to information from the Ministry of Energy, the general contractor — China National Electric Engineering Company — completed the preparatory work for dismantling by February 1. The project involves a team of 65 specialists, as well as the necessary equipment.
The specialists began work on February 10 after the acceptance of the unit, and the work is being carried out daily, without breaks. By February 16, the dismantling and lifting of the generator rotor were completed, while the disassembly of the rotor and stator is ongoing. The dismantling of the generator is expected to be completed by February 22, and the entire scope of work on unit No. 2 is expected to be finished by the beginning of March. There are no delays in the schedule.
At the same time, preparations for the new equipment are underway: the stator of the new generator has already been assembled and successfully passed electrical tests, while the rotor is 50% ready.
This project is being implemented as part of the state policy for the modernization of the energy sector, which was designated by President Sadyr Japarov as a strategic priority. After the completion of the work, a significant increase in the reliability and capacity of the station is expected.
