At the Buchuk site of the Solton-Sary deposit, 876.3 kilograms of gold were extracted in 2025, as reported by the administration of the Naryn region source.

The gold extraction plant located at this deposit began its operations in test mode in October 2024. The plant's installed capacity allows for the processing of 600,000 tons of ore annually, with a projected output of about 1.8 tons of gold. Approximately 12 billion soms were invested in the project.

The Solton-Sary gold ore deposit itself is located 355 kilometers from the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, on the northern slope of the Kapka-Tash ridge. It includes three sites: Buchuk, Ak-Tash, and Altyn-Tor, the latter of which is being developed by OJSC "Kyrgyzaltyn".

The total estimated gold reserves in this deposit are approximately 20 tons.

The rights to develop the Buchuk site were acquired by Zhong Ji Mining in 2009. Since 2011, local residents have begun protests against the development of the deposit, expressing concerns about potential harm to the ecology and the threat of glacier melting. In this regard, the company suspended construction work in 2019, but later it was resumed.
