In 2025, 320 licenses were revoked in the mining industry of Kyrgyzstan

According to information presented at the meeting of the board of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, in 2025, 320 licenses in the field of subsoil use were revoked in Kyrgyzstan due to various violations.

The Ministry notes that significant reforms aimed at strengthening state control have been carried out in this area over the past five years. Eight major projects were launched in 2024-2025, and 105 new licenses were issued in 2025. Currently, there are 2014 active licenses.

Thanks to these changes, the budget from the mining sector has received over 217.9 billion soms in the past five years, representing a growth of 3.5 times. In 2025, a record was set — revenues amounted to 65.4 billion soms.

Throughout the year, 40 auctions for licenses were held, bringing in over 105 million soms to the budget.

Additionally, in 2025, 5749 cases of environmental violations were registered, resulting in compensation for damages amounting to 143.2 million soms. A state enterprise "Ekooperator" was also established, which received 74 million soms from recycling fees.
