According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, the main goal of this project is to develop a Kyrgyz-Russian and Russian-Kyrgyz dictionary of terms. This step is aimed at eliminating problems related to the diversity and confusion in professional vocabulary, which is especially relevant for areas such as agronomy, veterinary medicine, irrigation, and processing. The lack of unified translation standards creates difficulties in preparing legal acts and official documentation.
The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Zhanibek Kerimaliev. Among the participants were the director of the Kyrgyz Encyclopedia and Terminology Center under the National Commission for State Language, T. Osmonaliev, as well as leading scholars from the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Skryabin and specialized research institutes dealing with agriculture, animal husbandry, irrigation, and veterinary medicine.
As a result of the discussions, it was emphasized that the new dictionary will be an important resource not only for officials and lawyers. It will provide significant assistance to specialists in the field, as well as to teachers and students of agricultural educational institutions. The creation of a unified terminological database will allow the agricultural sector of the country to communicate in one, precise, and modern language.
