A meeting organized by the Antimonopoly Service under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic took place in Bishkek, where current issues of pricing in the public catering sector were discussed.
This event was led by Jenaly Orozbaev, the head of the service, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry, the HoReCa Club Association of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs, as well as entrepreneurs working in this field.
According to representatives of the Antimonopoly Service, the meeting addressed changes that will come into effect on January 1, 2026, to the Government Resolution of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 560 dated September 30, 2014, which includes the following innovations:
- Service charges, dish delivery, and table setting cannot be charged separately from the total order cost;
- The total cost of services must be included in the price indicated in the menu or price list available to the customer before placing an order;
- The final payment amount must correspond to the price indicated in the public price list.
The Antimonopoly Service also emphasized the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases. In January 2026, a rise in prices for public catering services was recorded, with some establishments increasing prices by more than 15 percent.
Representatives of cafes and restaurants confirmed that starting January 1, 2026, the service charge will be included in the total amount without separate indication on the receipt. They noted that the price review for dishes was prompted by rising costs for the following reasons:
- Increase in rent;
- Rising utility and fuel tariffs;
- Increase in the cost of products used in dish preparation;
- Increase in operational expenses, including the purchase of inventory;
- Increase in wages and tax burden on employees.
- To optimize prices for public catering services;
- To introduce discounts on orders and takeout of 10 percent.
Representatives of the HoReCa Club Association of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs promised to soon provide the Antimonopoly Service with analytical information for the joint development of mechanisms for price stabilization.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Antimonopoly Service called for strict compliance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and prevention of violations of consumer rights, as well as adherence to the Law "On Consumer Rights Protection."
