The high-voltage substation "Suu-Bashy" with parameters of 110/35/10 kV was launched in Batken. This event took place during the working trip of the Minister of Energy, Talaybek Ibraev, to the Batken region.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, the minister emphasized that the number of electricity consumers is increasing every year, which requires us to expand capacities and generation to support new residential and industrial facilities.

“The increase in electricity consumption is becoming noticeable. New substations, reconstruction of hydro units at large hydropower plants, as well as the commissioning of small hydropower plants and solar power stations — all this is necessary to provide the population with light and heat. We must continue to develop,” said T. Ibraev.

The "Suu-Bashy" substation occupies an area of 500 square meters. The project was implemented in cooperation between the Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" and the Batken City Hall. The total construction cost was 55 million 758 thousand soms, of which 19 million 958 thousand soms were allocated for the purchase of additional materials, and 35 million 800 thousand soms for equipment.

With the opening of the new facility, electricity supply will improve for areas such as the village of Jangy-Dostuk, the residential complex "Batken City," the new stadium with a capacity of 10,000 seats, as well as 2,224 residential houses and a Russian school under construction with support from the Russian Federation.

In addition, the substation will supply electricity to other substations, such as Kara-Bulak, Kara-Tokoy-1, Kara-Tokoy-2, and Shirech with a voltage of 35/10 kV. It is connected to a new 110 kV overhead power line "Aigul-Tash – Central," which is located 150 meters from the facility.

During the event, the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise received new vehicles, including three JAC N8 cars, one JAC N56, and an SHANMON excavator to enhance operational efficiency.

Additionally, the minister held a meeting with the enterprise employees, where current issues in the industry and ways to improve working conditions and develop the energy infrastructure of the region were discussed. After the discussion, appropriate instructions were given.
