For the first time since his appointment on March 8, Khamenei has not appeared at public events, which has sparked numerous rumors about his health on social media. According to Reuters, citing Iranian officials, the new leader sustained minor injuries, presumably as a result of the same incident that led to the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In his statement, he emphasized that the deaths of the "martyrs" would not go unanswered and confirmed that the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz would continue. Khamenei also urged neighboring countries to close American military bases, which Iran considers legitimate targets for attacks.

Interestingly, the new Supreme Leader reported that he learned of his election while watching television news, simultaneously with other citizens of Iran.
