“We do not intend to negotiate with the United States,” Larijani wrote on the social network X.
This statement was made in response to information published by The Wall Street Journal, according to which Larijani initiated the possibility of negotiations with Washington and conveyed this proposal through intermediaries.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump also mentioned the possibility of new negotiations with Iran, but did not specify which Iranian officials are involved in the discussions and what issues are being raised.
Ali Larijani is one of the key figures in the Iranian leadership, having maintained his position even amid recent conflicts. It should be noted that the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in the early days of the war, and a temporary council is currently operating in the country.
