Khamenei Warned of the Risk of Regional War in Case of US Attack on Iran
In his address, Khamenei noted that "America must understand: if they start a war, it will be of a regional nature," reports the Iranian state television and radio company iribnews.
He also emphasized that the constant threats from the United States, including mentions of military actions, are not new. "America has threatened several times, saying that 'all options are on the table,' including military ones," he added.
At the same time, Khamenei clarified that Iran does not intend to initiate a war and does not plan to attack other countries. "The Iranian people will respond harshly to any attack that causes harm," he stressed.
The leader of Iran compared the recent protests in the country to an attempted coup. "The disturbances that occurred resembled a coup. This uprising was suppressed. Their goal was to destroy the main administrative structures. Therefore, they attacked the police, state institutions, the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, banks, and mosques, burning the Quran. They targeted key structures of governance in the country. It was akin to an attempted coup," he noted.
