Speaking to the residents of Iowa, Trump stated: "Another armada is heading to Iran now, and let's hope they agree to a deal."

On Monday, the president noted that the situation around Iran remains unstable, but did not disclose possible intentions of Washington regarding this country. According to Axios, citing sources in the administration, Trump is considering the possibility of military intervention, despite American authorities believing that the protests in Iran are "mostly suppressed."

The U.S. Central Command also confirmed that the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln has reached its area of responsibility in the Indian Ocean, and according to The New York Times, it may be ready to strike Iran within the next 24 hours.

The protest movement in Iran began in late December against the backdrop of the devaluation of the national currency. Since January 8, following calls from Reza Pahlavi, the son of the ousted shah, the protests have taken on a mass character, and the internet in the country was temporarily shut down. In several cities, protests escalated into clashes with security forces, and slogans against the current regime were heard. Reports of casualties on both sides were noted.

According to Iranian authorities, by January 12, the situation was brought under control, and two days later they announced the end of the unrest. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian promised to continue economic reforms and accused the U.S. and Israel of inciting disorder.

In light of these events, Trump warned of possible military strikes in response to security forces firing on protesters. On the night of January 22, Iran temporarily closed its airspace in anticipation of possible attacks from the U.S.

In response to the situation, Iranian authorities expressed their readiness for negotiations, emphasizing that if necessary, they are fully prepared for war.
