The Secretary General of TURKPA Held a Meeting with the Secretary General of the CIS IPA Council
The meeting took place as part of the 16th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in Manama (Bahrain).
During the conversation, the parties discussed the activities of TURKPA, initiated since 2008, as well as current projects. The discussion also touched on important regional and global political processes. Attention was given to the role of parliamentary diplomacy in responding to modern challenges and in facilitating the resolution of existing conflicts.
Prospects for joint work between TURKPA and the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS were also considered, including the possibility of TURKPA obtaining observer status within the structure of the IPA CIS.
Kobitsky noted numerous opportunities for expanding parliamentary interaction, exchanging experiences, and jointly implementing initiatives aimed at strengthening peace, security, and stability, as well as developing relations between friendly states. He emphasized that further cooperation could be mutually beneficial.
As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on the further development of cooperation between TURKPA and the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS in areas of mutual interest, as well as the possibility of organizing reciprocal visits.
The discussion involved the Deputy Secretary-General of TURKPA, Muhammet Alper Hayali, and the Head of the Protocol Service, Yadigar Mammadov.
