The Secretary General of TURKPA met with the President of the International Congress of Parliamentarians
During his meetings, Ramil Hasan discussed cooperation with Abdelrahim Almaaya, the president of the International Congress of Parliamentarians and former vice-speaker of the Jordanian parliament.
The interlocutors discussed the progress of implementing the Memorandum of Cooperation and Understanding, which was signed in 2023 between TURKPA and the International Congress of Parliamentarians. The participants of the meeting noted that for more effective cooperation, active participation of parliamentarians from TURKPA member states is necessary.
Almaaya expressed interest in deepening interaction, emphasizing the need to involve deputies from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey in the work of the International Congress of Parliamentarians.
Furthermore, the parties agreed that the International Congress of Parliamentarians would send an official letter to the TURKPA secretariat outlining specific proposals for developing cooperation. In response, the TURKPA secretariat intends to reach out to the heads of the parliaments of the member states to coordinate further areas of interaction in various fields.
The discussion also involved the Deputy Secretary-General of TURKPA, Muhammet Alper Hayali, and the head of the protocol service, Yadigar Mammadov.
