The competitions, which will last for two days, gathered more than 120 participants representing sports clubs and committees from Ulaanbaatar, as well as from provinces such as Orkhon, Darkhan-Uul, Khentii, and Arkhangai. This championship featured the 72nd tournament for men and the 22nd for women, during which the competitions began with the lightest weight categories.
The first competitors in the tournament were women in the under 48 kg weight category, with nine athletes participating. The gold medal was won by international champion Tungalag B., who lifted 52 kg in the snatch and 61 kg in the clean and jerk, totaling 113 kg. This marked her eighth national title at various championship levels.
Additionally, on the eve of the championship, following a general meeting, the organizational structure of the Mongolian Weightlifting Federation was changed. As a result of the meeting, a new president, general secretary, and head coach of the federation were elected.
