Iran has reopened its airspace after a temporary closure
The flight tracking service Flightradar24 reports that flight restrictions were lifted at 3:00 AM GMT. Among the first airlines to resume flights were the Iranian carriers Mahan Air, Yazd Airways, and AVA Airlines.
The closure of airspace occurred after reports that U.S. President Donald Trump is considering possible retaliatory actions amid the largest anti-government protests in Iran in recent years.
On Wednesday, one U.S. official told Reuters that some U.S. personnel would be withdrawn from bases in the Middle East. This statement followed a warning from a senior Iranian official about possible strikes on American bases in the event of an attack from Washington.
