In Iran, about 300 participants in the riots have been detained
The Iranian police reported the detention of 297 individuals who participated in the riots, as reported by IRIB. This information was conveyed through RIA Novosti.
According to the head of the police department responsible for public safety, all detainees are connected to protests supported by American and Israeli entities.
Protests in Iran began in late December 2025 in response to the decline of the Iranian rial. Starting January 8, following calls from Reza Pahlavi, the son of the overthrown Shah in 1979, the protests became more widespread, and on the same day, the internet was shut down in the country. In several cities, protesters clashed with police, expressing dissatisfaction with the current government.
During the riots, reports indicated injuries among both protesters and law enforcement. Iranian authorities, who accused the U.S. and Israel of orchestrating the unrest, stated on January 12 that the situation had been stabilized.
