International media and news agencies have reported on incidents in Ukraine and around the world, considering the ongoing military actions. Here are the main points.

  • In Rostov-on-Don, local residents and monitoring Telegram channels report explosions and the activation of air defense systems. Mayor Alexander Skryabin confirmed damage to several apartment buildings as a result of the airstrike.
  • On January 13, Russia launched an attack on 15 critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
  • In Kryvyi Rih, authorities reported damage to infrastructure and urged citizens to stock up on water and charge their devices. 45,000 subscribers were left without electricity, and over 700 homes lost heating.
  • In Starovarvarivka, Donetsk region, one person was killed as a result of an attack by the Russian army.
  • In Taganrog, a woman became a victim of a Ukrainian drone; earlier, the SBU reported an attack on the "Atlant Aero" factory, which is involved in drone production.
  • In Belgorod region, in the Shebekino district, one person was killed as a result of a similar drone attack.
  • The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) reported the uncovering of corruption related to one of the leaders of the factions in the Verkhovna Rada. According to media reports, this concerns Yulia Tymoshenko.
  • On January 15, at the initiative of Ukraine, a meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) will take place, during which Russian attacks and the disregard for peace initiatives by the United States will be discussed.
  • The Verkhovna Rada decided to dismiss Vasyl Maliuk from the position of head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
  • The nomination of Denys Shmyhal for the position of Minister of Energy could not be approved. The vote to appoint Mykhailo Fedorov, the former Minister for Digital Transformation, as Minister of Defense also failed.
  • In the Black Sea, there was a drone attack on two oil tankers waiting to load Kazakh oil at the terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).
