The Kyrgyzstan national football team suffered a setback in a friendly match against the team of Equatorial Guinea.

The match took place on March 25 in Turkey and ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the opponent. The only goal was scored from a penalty in the 40th minute of the first half.

This match was the debut for Robert Prosinečki, the new head coach of the Kyrgyzstan national team from Croatia.

"The opponent had only one moment. The penalty, in my opinion, was controversial, but the referee's decision cannot be changed. We need to convert our chances, and we didn't do that, and the result speaks for itself. The game was going well; we only struggled in the first 10-15 minutes, after which we controlled the flow of the match and created chances," Kichin noted in an interview with the "Kyrgyz Sport TV" channel after the match.

The team captain also shared his impressions of the new coach.

"The new coach prefers a game with the ball. He wants us to keep it under control and play passes. However, it's difficult to work on anything in just five days. I am confident that his approach will yield good results in the future," Kichin added.

On March 28, the Kyrgyzstan national team will play against the team of Madagascar.
