At the international ITF taekwondo tournament held from March 20 to 21, 2026, in Shymkent, Kyrgyz athletes demonstrated excellent results, winning 29 medals.
According to the federation, about 500 participants from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan competed in the event.
The Kyrgyzstan team consisted of 50 athletes.
As a result of the tournament, in individual categories, Kyrgyz athletes won 5 gold, 10 silver, and 14 bronze medals.
The team also showed good results in team disciplines:
- first place in team sparring among juniors aged 16-17
- third place in team sparring among junior girls aged 14-15.
