Athletes of Kyrgyzstan won more than 800 medals in 2025


Throughout the year, the national teams of Kyrgyzstan participated in 230 international competitions. To prepare the athletes, 147 training camps were organized, and 166 sports events were held at the national and regional levels. One of the most significant events was the World Sambo Championship held in Bishkek.

On the international stage, Kyrgyz athletes won 846 medals, including 267 gold, 234 silver, and 345 bronze. Prize places were secured at major competitions such as the Islamic Games, Asian Games, World Championships, and the Deaflympics. Due to the high level of achievements, 174 athletes received state scholarships ranging from 20,000 to 60,000 soms. In total, in 2025, 1 billion 163 million soms were allocated for the development of the sports sector, of which 20 million was spent on purchasing equipment for regional sports schools.

Significant attention was paid to mass sports. As part of the "School League" project in football, basketball, and volleyball, 2,030 teams from 2,700 educational institutions participated. Additionally, the final of the "I am a Champion" project in 12 sports took place in the Chui region. A total of 8,366 mass events were organized in Kyrgyzstan, with over 428,000 participants. The department emphasized that in the future, priorities will remain the expansion of international presence and further promotion of physical culture among citizens.
