The beginning of Thomas's career traces back to the Right to Dream academy in Ghana. In early 2015, he joined the Manchester City system, but was soon loaned out to the Dutch club Twente. During this period, he played alongside players such as Hakim Ziyech and against Dirk Kuyt, representing Feyenoord.
After completing his loan at Twente, Agyepong returned to Manchester City, but was soon loaned out again—this time to NAC Breda. At this club, he faced Emmen, which featured Victor Maier, known for his performances with the Kyrgyzstan national team.
Successful performances at NAC Breda caught the attention of Ghana's national team coaches, and he was eventually called up to the national team.
His debut for the Black Stars took place on June 11, 2017, in a qualifying match for the Africa Cup of Nations against Ethiopia, where he played as a right winger and provided an assist to Asamoah Gyan.

The summer transfer back to Manchester City in 2018 was unsuccessful, as he did not play a single match for the first team during the year.
In May 2019, he found himself on loan again, this time at the Scottish club Hibernian, where he spent the last three months of the season. In Scotland, he played alongside Australian Mark Milligan, who played at Dolon Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek in 2015.
In the same season, Agyepong also took the field for the Ghana national team, where he played alongside the Ayew brothers—Jordan and Andre.
After three years spent on loan at Belgian clubs Waasland-Beveren and Lommel, Agyepong ended his career at Manchester City without ever playing for the first team.
After a year without a club, in the summer of 2023, he signed a contract with the Estonian club Paide, where he managed to play 5 matches in the UEFA Conference League qualifying.
By 2025, the winger was once again without a team, and in February 2026, he signed a contract with Muras United. He may debut in the Kyrgyzstan championship on March 23 in a match against Kyrgyzaltyn.
