On March 27, Kyrgyz wrestler Aiperi Medet kyzy will step onto the mat in Tashkent, where the PWL tournament will take place.
According to the organizers, her opponent will be Olympic champion from Japan, Yuki Kagami. These athletes have already faced each other on the mat four times, and their rivalry has ended in a tie — 2:2.
The last match took place at the World Championship in 2023, where the Japanese athlete emerged victorious.
It is worth noting that Yuki Kagami is the Olympic champion from the Games held in Paris in 2024. In turn, Aiperi Medet kyzy finished in 5th place at the same Olympics, but later achieved success at the Asian Championship, as well as at the Islamic Games, becoming the silver medalist of the World Championship.
