In 2026, Kyrgyzstan will become a venue for significant international sporting events, highlighting its commitment to developing sports and event tourism. As part of these events, the Asian Wrestling Championship and the Central Asian Sailing Championship are planned to take place at the picturesque Issyk-Kul Lake, along with the next World Nomad Games.
These plans were announced at a recent meeting of the board of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, where Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, spoke. During the meeting, instructions were given to accelerate the launch of the "Kyrgyz Center for Sports and Health Medicine," enhance safety levels at mass competitions, and activate the digitalization of sports services. Additionally, the Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports has been tasked with rethinking its work and strengthening the training of specialists in new sports disciplines.
