According to the Cycling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, the athletes were unable to obtain visas.
“The organizers did not provide the personal invitations necessary for obtaining a sports visa. As a result, the participants had to apply for tourist and transit visas, but they were denied. The documents were submitted twice, but success was not achieved,” the federation commented.
In the "Masters" category at these games, Igor Filin and Evgeny Russo were supposed to compete.
Igor Filin, who recently became the champion of Asia among veterans in Saudi Arabia, will not be able to confirm his successes on the international stage.
Currently, the Kyrgyzstan team has won 4 medals at the World Games in the UAE, including one gold, two silver, and one bronze.
It is worth noting that in December 2025, the Kyrgyz boxing team also failed to obtain visas to participate in the World Championship in the UAE; however, after intervention from the authorities, the issue was resolved.
