At the Open Masters Games 2026 held in Abu Dhabi, 40-year-old judoka Islam Bayalinov became the champion, winning a gold medal.
In the under 73 kg category, Bayalinov began his performance in the round of 16 and achieved four consecutive victories, defeating opponents from Brazil and Kazakhstan, which allowed him to take first place.
It is worth noting that in January of this year, he also became a silver medalist at the Kyrgyzstan Judo Championship, showcasing his athletic achievements on both the national and international stages.
