Kyrgyzstani Islam Bayalinov won gold at the Open Masters Games
At the Open Masters Games 2026, held in the United Arab Emirates, judoka from Kyrgyzstan Islam Bayalinov won a gold medal. The competitions started on February 7 in Abu Dhabi, as reported by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Islam Bayalinov, who is also the head coach of the women's judo team, competed in the under 73 kg category and began his performances from the quarter-finals.
The athlete is 40 years old and managed to achieve four consecutive victories over opponents from Brazil and Kazakhstan, which allowed him to win gold.
It is worth noting that at the end of January, Bayalinov participated in the Kyrgyzstan Championship, where he managed to take second place and receive a silver medal.
