Carlos Alcaraz will immortalize his victory over Djokovic with a tattoo

With his triumph at the Australian Open 2026, Carlos Alcaraz, the world number one, achieved a historic victory by defeating the legendary Serbian Novak Djokovic in the final, who has 24 Grand Slam titles to his name. The final match, held in Melbourne, ended with a score of 3:1 (2:6, 6:2, 6:3, 7:5).

This victory brought Alcaraz a unique career "Grand Slam," as he became the youngest player in history to collect titles from all four major tournaments. The Spaniard broke Rafael Nadal's record and received over 3.1 million Australian dollars (approximately 2 million British pounds) in prize money.

Following his tradition, the seven-time major champion decided to celebrate this success with a new tattoo. Even before the tournament began, he promised to get a tattoo of a kangaroo, the symbol of Australia.

“I’m going to get a little kangaroo tattoo on my leg. I haven’t decided exactly where yet, but it will complement my collection,” Alcaraz noted. It is worth mentioning that the tennis player already has tattoos symbolizing his major achievements: a strawberry representing Wimbledon, the Eiffel Tower dedicated to Roland Garros, as well as the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge, which he got in honor of his victories at the US Open.
