The Winter Olympic Games opened in Italy

The official opening of the Winter Olympic Games took place at the "San Siro" stadium in Milan, where Kazybek Moldazhiyev, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Government of Kyrgyzstan, was present.

The athletes' parade took place not only in Milan but also in other cities, including Cortina d'Ampezzo, Predazzo, and Livigno. The theme of the opening ceremony was named Armonia ("Harmony"), and the honor of concluding the procession of national teams fell to the French team, which is the host country for the Olympics in 2030.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella and the head of the International Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry, officially announced the opening of the Games. The Olympic flame was lit at the Arch of Peace in Milan and at the Dibon Square in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

The Winter Olympic Games began on February 6 and will last until February 22. Kyrgyzstan is represented at these Games by two 19-year-old athletes: Timur Shakirov and Artur Saparbekov. Artur Saparbekov will compete in cross-country skiing on February 10 and 13, while Timur Shakirov plans his performances in alpine skiing disciplines on February 14 and 16.
