We regret to inform about the passing of Georgy Petrashov, an outstanding cycling coach in Kyrgyzstan. This information was announced by the Cycling Federation of the country.
At the time of his death, Petrashov was 88 years old.
Georgy Petrashov earned recognition as a coach of the Kyrgyz SSR and the Kyrgyz Republic, and was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR.
For many years, he led the national cycling team of the Kyrgyz SSR, nurturing a whole generation of talented cyclists and significantly contributing to the development of the national cycling school, as noted by the federation.
In addition, Georgy Petrashov was the grandfather of Denis Petrashov, an international class master of sports in swimming.
