Student Azamat Jumabekov won the chess championship of the Chui region among adults.
According to a Turmush correspondent, the competition took place from January 17 to February 1 and was held on Saturdays and Sundays at the Ak Ilbirs Olympic Reserve Children's and Youth Sports School.
Thirty chess players from the Chuy region participated in the tournament, including five representatives from the Jayil district, who competed under the guidance of coach Ernist Jakypov.
As a result of the competition, 16-year-old Azamat Jumabekov, a student of School No. 8 in the city of Kara-Balta, took first place. He also earned the right to participate in the championship among adults, which includes both men and women. The young champion is trained by Ernist Jakypov.
Azamat was awarded a commemorative medal and a diploma from the Chuy region's Department of Physical Culture and Sports in recognition of his achievement.
