Denis Petrashov won silver at the tournament in the USA

At the competitions held on January 14-15 in Austin, Texas, USA, Petrashov demonstrated excellent results in the 100-meter breaststroke, finishing in second place in the final.

In the preliminary heats, he confidently completed the distance, qualifying with the second-best time. The final race, which took place early in the morning on January 15, ended for the Kyrgyz athlete with a time of 59.55 seconds, earning him a silver medal.

The first place in this race was taken by American swimmer Matthias Vann with a time of 59.45 seconds.

It is noteworthy that the Pro Swim Series stage in Austin gathered the strongest swimmers in the world and is an important part of the preparation for the 2028 Olympic Games. The tournament features Olympic champions from the USA, as well as the French team led by Léon Marchand, and the team from Kazakhstan, which sent nine of its swimmers to the USA for competitions and training.

Additionally, Denis Petrashov plans to compete in the 50 and 200 meters breaststroke events at the tournament.

Coaches from the Kyrgyzstan national team emphasize the importance of participating in international competitions to enhance the athletes' training level, and the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports promises to provide support for continued training in the USA.
