Morocco defeated Nigeria on penalties and reached the final of the Africa Cup.
In this tense semifinal match, regular and extra time ended in a goalless draw - 0:0. The fate of the final was decided in a penalty shootout, where the Moroccan team showed more accuracy, winning 4:2.
Yassine Bounou, the goalkeeper of the Moroccan national team, once again became a key figure, saving shots from Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi, which gave his team the advantage. Moroccan players El Aynaoui, Ben Segir, Achraf Hakimi, and Youssef En-Nesyri successfully converted their penalties, while the only miss was recorded by Ighalo.
The Nigerian national team managed to score only two penalties: their attempts were successful for Paul Onuachu and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, but misses from Chukwueze and Onyemaechi prevented the "Super Eagles" from reaching the final.
In the decisive match of the tournament, Morocco will face the Senegal national team, which won against Egypt in the first semifinal. Senegal, the reigning champion of the Africa Cup of Nations 2021, will be a strong opponent.
