Pomegranate – an important export product of Tajikistan
Pomegranate, or as the locals call it, is one of the most significant export goods of the country. Many varieties of this fruit are grown in Tajikistan, and the best specimens are showcased at various festivals. Nurek, where the main hydroelectric power station of the republic is located, is also famous for its pomegranates.
