Every Sunday in the village of At-Bashy, located in the At-Bashy district of the Naryn region, a livestock market traditionally takes place. This time, the attention of the spectators was focused on a stallion, which was valued at the highest price among the animals presented.
This stallion belongs to the "Özgön" line and its price was set at 300,000 soms.
The owner, 30-year-old Medetbek uulu Jakshylyk, who lives in the village of Ak-Jar, reported that the horse was brought from the Uzgen district of the Osh region. He noted: "We have kept this stallion for two weeks now. We are starting to train it for the game of ulak. We take care of the horses ourselves: we tame them, and then, if the price is right, we sell them. Currently, the price is 300,000 soms. The horse stands 1 meter 63 centimeters tall, has straight and clean legs, and is 6 years old. It can also be let into a herd. This horse has a hot temperament, but it is very strong. Its appetite is good, and it quickly adapted to our conditions. We keep it just like a Kyrgyz horse, but in warm stables. Our goal is to play ulak and get offspring," the owner shared.
Medetbek uulu Jakshylyk also emphasized that in recent years, to refresh the bloodlines of local horses, stallions have been brought in from Kara-Köl and Chui, which allows for the production of quality foals. According to him, the constant replacement of stallions brings positive results.
A resident of the village of Kara-Suu became the buyer of Jakshylyk's stallion at this market.
