Kyrgyzstan has started printing its national currency independently for the first time

President Sadyr Japarov characterized this event as historic and noted the international recognition of the quality of the new production.

For the first time since gaining independence, Kyrgyzstan has transitioned to the independent issuance of its currency — the Kyrgyz som. This was announced by President Sadyr Japarov.

According to Japarov, until now the republic spent significant funds on printing money abroad, but now this process is under control within the country.

“Today is a historic day for Kyrgyzstan! Now we can order the printing of our currency ourselves,” the president emphasized.

He also noted that the new production has received an international certificate confirming its compliance with high global standards, and added that important documents such as passports, ID cards, driver's licenses, and vehicle registration certificates will also be produced here.

In addition, Kyrgyzstan is ready to offer currency and document printing services to other countries, and the first orders are already coming in from abroad.

Modern security technologies make counterfeiting of the products impossible, while the cost of production remains competitive.
