Kyrgyzstan is no longer dependent on foreign printing houses, as the republic has now begun to produce its national currency independently. This was announced by the country's president, Sadyr Japarov, on his social media page. He emphasized that this decision will not only save the budget but will also be a sign of improved quality, as the republic is ready to accept orders for printing monetary products and documents from other countries.
“Today is a historic day for our state! For the first time in the history of Kyrgyzstan, we have started printing our som independently. Previously, we had to order currency printing from foreign printing houses and pay for it. Now, thanks to the level we have achieved, we are capable of printing currency even for other states. We have also received an international certificate confirming compliance with all necessary standards and requirements for money production,” the president stated.
Moreover, the republic produces important documents at a high level, such as passports, ID cards, driver's licenses, and vehicle registration documents. Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan is ready to print not only currency but also various government documents for other countries. Currently, orders have already been received from several foreign states. The presence of the certificate ensures a high level of protection for our products, making the counterfeiting of such documents virtually impossible. At the same time, prices remain affordable,” Japarov added.
