This year, the construction of the Balykchy–Bokonbaev–Karakol road is planned to be completed. The information was announced on Radio Birinchi by Kubanych Beksultanov, head of the planning and monitoring department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
He emphasized that this highway is key for the region. Construction has been underway since 2018, and by the president's directive, all work must be completed in 2023. The project is scheduled to be completed before the start of the tourist season.
Also among the priority projects for 2026 are bypass roads in Cholpon-Ata and Balykchy, as well as routes leading to the tourist complex "Ala-Tuu Resort." According to the ministry, the deadlines for completing work on these projects are also planned for this year.
