The opening ceremony took place at the Chinghiz Aitmatov Lyceum located in Bishkek, according to the Ministry of Education.
Deputy Minister Nadiira Dzhusupbekova emphasized that the key principle of this event is to reward the most deserving participants.
“You have come a long way and shown perseverance to be here. Each of you is already a winner. I am confident that you will demonstrate impressive results. You are the future of our country, a young generation capable of making a significant contribution to the development of science and education. I wish good luck to everyone, may the most deserving win!” she added.
In the republican stage of the Olympiad, 330 students who took prize-winning places in the regional and city stages are participating.
The Olympiad is being held at the following educational institutions:
- Chinghiz Aitmatov Lyceum — mathematics, physics, history, computer science, geography;
- Aichurok Lyceum — Kyrgyz, Russian, and English languages;
- Kyrgyz State University named after Ishenaly Arabaev — chemistry and biology.
The event will last for two days, and the final award ceremony for the winners is scheduled for March 30.
