How will consumers' lives change before the long water shutdown?
The authorities of Bishkek have informed citizens about the introduction of new tariffs for hot water, which will come into effect on March 1, 2026.
This information was officially confirmed by the order of the Department for Regulation of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Ministry of Energy under number 42, issued on March 10, 2026.
The city authorities clarified: “From March 1, 2026, a new tariff for hot water (excluding taxes) will be established, while the heating tariff will remain the same. The new rates will take effect when billing for hot water supply begins from the specified date. We recommend taking these changes into account when planning utility expenses,” the city hall noted.
It is worth mentioning that the annual increase in hot water supply tariffs was previously established by the government. Energy companies urged the population not to abandon centralized hot water supply in favor of water heaters.
In addition, the city mayor also announced plans to abandon the services of the CHPP in the future.
