In Bishkek, farewell was said to the People's Artist Abdykalyk Akmatov

In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a farewell ceremony was held in honor of the outstanding theater and film actor, People's Artist Abdykalyk Akmatov. The ceremony took place in the hall of the Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theater named after Toktobolot Abdymomunov, as reported by the Ministry of Culture.

Colleagues, relatives, friends, as well as representatives of the state and cultural spheres gathered for the memorial service to pay their respects to the artist.




Mirbek Mambetaliev, the Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, emphasized the significant contribution of Abdykalyk Akmatov to the development of the country's culture. Additionally, Cholponbek Abykeev, the presidential advisor, conveyed condolences on behalf of the head of state.

Representatives from the theater and film world noted the high professional qualities of the artist and his human virtues, speaking on behalf of colleagues and friends.

Abdykalyk Akmatov passed away on March 25, 2026, at the age of 71 after a prolonged illness. He was born in 1955 in the village of Ak-Bulak, located in the Nookat district of the Osh region. He began his career in 1975 at the Osh Regional Drama Theater and later completed his studies at VGIK in Moscow, earning the profession of film actor.
Throughout his career, he was awarded the titles of "Honored Artist" and "People's Artist," as well as numerous state and international awards.
The memory of this talented cultural figure will continue to live in the hearts of his colleagues, loved ones, and art admirers.
