Karakol is preparing to launch a modern wastewater treatment plant
This project aims to improve the environmental situation in the region, enhance the quality of urban infrastructure, and create safe conditions for local residents.
The construction work is being carried out in two phases. The first phase will provide a capacity of 12,000 cubic meters per day, which will serve about 75,000 people. The second phase, scheduled for 2027, will increase the capacity to 24,000 cubic meters, allowing up to 150,000 residents to be connected to the sewage network.
Currently, the main construction works have been completed, including the erection of key facilities such as aeration tanks, settling tanks, and technical structures, as well as an administrative building with a laboratory. The completion of work on engineering networks and landscaping is expected soon. Commissioning works are scheduled for May.
It is important to note that only 35-40% of facilities in the city are currently connected to centralized sewage. After the project is completed, the municipal enterprise "Gorvodokanal" will begin the phased connection of new users.
In addition, 12.7 kilometers of new sewage networks have already been laid in the city, which will allow new districts to be connected to modern treatment systems.
