President Sadyr Japarov met with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu
The meeting of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, with Feridun Sinirlioglu, the Secretary General of the OSCE, took place today, March 25. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
During the negotiations, the prospects for expanding partnership between Kyrgyzstan and the OSCE were discussed, including increasing the Organization's project presence in the country to implement joint initiatives.
The President noted that cooperation within the framework of the OSCE has been actively developing in recent years, also emphasizing the regular visits of delegations from both sides.
Sadyr Japarov highlighted the importance of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, noting the implementation of 22 projects, among which the OSCE Academy in the capital is one of the most successful.
He also thanked the Organization for its support in various areas, including reforms in the judicial and law enforcement systems, digitalization, improving public administration, protecting human rights, and democratic freedoms.
Speaking about cooperation with Central Asian countries, the president identified this direction as key in Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy. The Secretary General's visit coincided with the anniversary of the signing of historic agreements on state borders between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
In this context, the president also supported the OSCE's activities in strengthening peace and trust in the border areas of the region.
Feridun Sinirlioglu, in response, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted Kyrgyzstan's achievements under Sadyr Japarov's leadership in the area of socio-economic development.
He emphasized Kyrgyzstan's successes in developing democracy and the active participation of women in parliament and politics.
Sinirlioglu also noted Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy, which is focused on good neighborly relations and adherence to international norms, emphasizing the president's contribution to ensuring regional security and cooperation in Central Asia.
During the meeting, Japarov expressed concern about the complex geopolitical situation in the world, including the conflict in the Middle East, which affects the lives of many peaceful citizens and destroys important infrastructure in brotherly countries.
In conclusion, the parties noted the importance of peacefully resolving all disputed issues.
